Recipes, traditions, drawings and holiday tales make this book
one you'll turn to again and again for Christmas inspiration.
It has recipes for the tried-and-true things we expect from a
holiday, and some new twists too. It's a beautiful, glossy,
full-color book with a nice section on food gifts to give. The
editors give you menus to work from including a skating party,
a holiday brunch and Christmas eve dinner.

This is the first cookbook from Gooseberry Patch. The artwork is
delightful line drawings that make you
feel cozy and warm all over. Not only are there recipes, but also
ideas for making the holidays great. Quotes, traditions and tips
abound. It's like having hot chocolate in front of the fire -- it's
hard to find much wrong with this book. It's one of my favorite
cookbooks of all time. It gets my highest recommendation.

Marvelous, marvelous, marvelous cookie recipes! A couple of my most
favorite cookie recipes are from this book. Don't miss "Patrick's
Chocolate Brownies" on page 81 --- they're divine. It's filled with
great recipes as well as traditions and tips.

Homespun Christmas
Gooseberry Patch at 1-800-854-6673.
The cost is $14.95 plus $2 postage.
Published in 1996 - ISBN 1-888052-00-7
This cookbook maintains the high standards already set by Gooseberry
Patch. It has fewer traditions and tips and more recipes. It is a bit more
"sophisticated" than former volumes with regard to recipes and artwork.
The same feeling of homeyness is there, but it's a bit toned down.
I really enjoy reading about other people's holidays and this book doesn't
have as much of this as former Christmas books from them. However, let me be
very clear, it is still a great book. Anyone who enjoys the
holidays and cooking would be thrilled to have a copy.
